Just buy it, trust me

This is something I carry with me at all times. Provides a great added tack to your hands when performing knackier tricks with more difficult palms or handling. I personally have dry hands, and this helps allow me to manipulate cards in an effective manner. This stuff is amazing!

A Workable Hand Preparation

For my manipulation routines with coins, balls, and sometimes cards (sorry, cards are classic but so so overworked and rarely offer more than a puzzle vs. "magic"), I have used U.F.Grant's hand preparation solution which does offer a more "dry" but "rough" texture to the skin that offers a bit more control over coins and balls (make sure the balls are well cleaned prior to any performance). So I was curious about this Octopalm solution. It does provide a good stick quality, just don't over do the application to the hands. You shouldn't hand paper items with this or it suddenly becomes obvious what you are doing with something on your hands. And, last but not least, it does have a fragrance. Not that heavy but it's there. A bit pricey but what in magic accessories isn't these days with the exception of thumb tips and small silks. A word to the wise: practice your manipulations without this on your hands, become proficient, then utilize a small bit of this for your performances. I would think this is not a substitute for astute practice but, rather, a prosthesis for enhancing your sleight grips in performance. Tip to the wise: watch the nervousness...hand sweat is not a good additive for this grease. Happy Conjuring! Hope this helps.
